We want to make it easy for you to walk through our doors and into worship!

What Should I Expect When I Visit Riverton?
At Riverton, we want to remove as many barriers as we can so that you can experience the Presence of God in our music, our message, and in the friendly people that are a part of our congregation. We know that coming to a church for the first time raises some questions like:

How do I get there?

What do I wear?
At Riverton, you’ll see a spectrum of clothing from jeans and sandals to suit coats and ties. Wear what’s comfortable to you and you’ll fit right in!

What will be there for my family?
As a parent we know you are looking for a safe environment for your children and at the same time, a place that engages all of their energy and creativity. For safety, we have an outstanding Child Protection policy at Riverton where your child is signed in and out by you. At 8:45 AM Christian Education for all ages begins. Our Worship starts at 10:00 AM.

What should I expect in worship?
At our 10:00 AM service each Sunday, you can expect to enter into praise with guitars and drums and upbeat songs intended to focus our attention on God. The morning message unlocks the meaning and the power of God’s word for today to help us live in the real world.

What is Riverton’s Story?
Riverton offers you a congregation that occupies the middle ground between formal and anything goes. The Riverton congregation grew out of the heritage of the thinking and lives of John and Charles Wesley, both Anglican priests who worked to reform their church in their time. They emphasized the study of Scripture, small groups of accountability, preaching, warm-hearted fellowship, music and singing in worship, and mission to the poor in their communities. Riverton UMC carries on this timeless heritage and it shapes our congregational life today. Our Wesleyan heritage has stood the test of time: we are still going strong after 121 years. The Scriptures guide us. Tradition enriches us. Reason explores God’s truth. Experience teaches us. You’ll find this life at Riverton. We’re large enough to offer a variety of ministries and programs to you and your family but we haven’t forgotten how to be friendly. We’re old enough to be guided by the wisdom of the ages, yet we’re responsive enough to the Spirit’s nudges to move in new directions and in surprising ways. In our spacious sanctuary, we praise God with guitars and drums and the newest worship songs. We also praise God with classically trained pianists and timeless spiritual treasures. Our pastor makes Christ present to daily living in his preaching and teaching ministry. We’re not trying to be all things to all people but we know what we have to offer and we do that with all the energy we possess. Come and see!
