Discipleship
The primary vision of Riverton United Methodist Church is “To Know Jesus Christ and Offer Him Freely.” In a nutshell, Riverton exists to make disciples.
What is a disciple? A disciple:
• is Biblically grounded,
• is Spirit filled,
• knows Jesus personally & is growing,
• serves others with love both within the church & in the community,
• is becoming more like Jesus,
• is part of a church family, and
• impacts the community around them.

To do this at Riverton the “Come, Grow, Go” discipleship process has been developed that encourages and promotes spiritual growth. It moves individuals through the process naturally, aligns ministries around that process, and sets up ways to measure our progress.
The first step in the process is Come. We call this ministry area Welcoming & Worship.
Grow, or Training & Transformation, is the second step in the process and probably the largest area of activity. This is where key elements of spiritual growth happen and where care for our congregation takes place.
The third area is Sharing & Serving, or Go. This is where serving our church and community takes place. It’s important that these ministry areas work in conjunction with each other, creating a way for individuals to move along through the process toward discipleship, which is key to spiritual growth.
