Currently studying the Case for Christ by Lee Strobel led by Jan and Tripp Bradd for rising grades 6-12. Enjoy fellowship, learn how to make a case for what you believe, and don’t forget the donuts!
We are Surge 120. Surge is for the waves of youth we pray that God will bring into His Kingdom and 120 is for the disciples who waited together in prayer for the coming of the Holy Spirit in the book of Acts.
Purpose Statement: To be a caring & fun-filled community of youth who know Jesus Christ, intent on sharing Him in our places of influence.
Our Youth Program started with a couple leaders and a handful of kids. With prayer and time, this program has grown and thrived. We now have quite a number of dedicated adults giving their time, energy, skills, and resources to raise up youth for the Lord. In addition to our own youth program, the youth and leaders of our church have joined with other local churches to form ‘Unite’. Unite is a network of Front Royal/Warren County area Christian youth ministries that exists to unite Christian teens and youth workers and to provide opportunities for interaction, ministry, and growth between various youth groups and ministries in the community.
God has brought amazing youth to Riverton. The youth of our church do not want to be ‘normal’. They want to be more – for God. The scripture that they look to is 1 Timothy 4:12, which says ‘Do not let anyone look down on you because you are young, but set an example for the believers in speech, in life, in love, in faith and in purity.’ Our youth want to do hard things and go the extra mile. They’re not content to be just on the receiving end of what is offered to them. They want to take what they’re learning at Riverton and step out boldly in God’s name and reach others for God. We have become a safe base for them to jump from, knowing they have Godly men and women around them for help and support here at Riverton.
Youth and youth leaders experience God in a unique way. Play and study go hand-in-hand in this fun-filled environment. Classes, devotions, small groups, music, campfires, games, team activities, discussions, quiet time, hiking, prayer, camps, worship, conferences, leadership opportunities, and missions are just some of the things our youth participate in.
